About

Sheffield. Next.js.
No WordPress.

Cameron Hall

A freelance web designer based in Sheffield.

I design and build fast, modern websites for small businesses in Next.js. Everything I ship is deployed on Vercel, measured with real Lighthouse scores, and runs on analytics that respect visitor privacy. No cookie banners people click through without reading, no plugin sprawl, no surprise monthly invoices for "security updates."

Most of my clients come to me from a WordPress site that was slow, fragile, or both - and what they want isn't a prettier WordPress site. They want something that loads instantly on a phone in a bad signal area, converts the visitors they already get, and doesn't break every time WordPress pushes an update. That's what I build.

If you've got a business worth showing up for and a site that isn't doing the job, I'd like to hear about it.

What I believe

A short manifesto.

01WordPress is a liability for most small businesses.

02A website's job is to turn strangers into customers. Everything else is decoration.

03If Lighthouse scores under 95, it isn't finished.

04A redesign that loses you on Google isn't a redesign. It's a disaster.

05Analytics should never compromise visitor trust.

06Speed is a feature. So is accessibility. They're not nice-to-haves.

How I work

The process.

01

Discovery

A one-page scope brief

We talk. What does the business do, who's it for, what does success look like? I come back with a written brief.

02

Design

A Figma file you can click through

I design the pages that matter most, typography, colour, and the components you'll see everywhere. Revisions happen here, not after launch.

03

Develop

A preview URL you can share

I build it in Next.js on Vercel. You get a live preview URL from day one - send it to anyone, share it with the family, get feedback as we go.

04

Deploy

A live domain + analytics

Point the domain, flip the switch, verify Search Console, wire up privacy-friendly analytics. The site is yours.
